THE CALVERT FAMILY - Calvert Connection
Four times each year, Calvert School publishes a collection of poetry,  prose, artwork, and photographs submitted by currently enrolled Calvert  students. The Calvert Connection offers your children the opportunity to see their work or photograph published, and to learn what they have in  common with their Calvert classmates from around the world.
ADVISORY TEACHING SERVICE (ATS) AND ACCREDITATION
Advisory teaching is available at a reasonable fee for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. You may enroll in the regular ATS service carried out through the mail or, if your child is in Grades 5 - 8, you may choose to use ATS online. Your child's work is graded by his or her ATS teacher and the results are recorded at our fully accredited institution as if you attended our Baltimore campus. An official transcript is available upon request.
ATS PROCEDURES
When you enroll your child in ATS, a teacher is assigned upon receipt of the first set of completed tests. This same teacher remains with your child until the grade is finished, providing your child with consistency and sincere interest. Each course contains eight sets
of tests for your child to complete.
PEN PAL PROGRAM
Letter writing is a skill that is stressed throughout the Calvert curriculum. To expand their course work and knowledge of the world, more than 500 home-school students are currently participating in our Pen Pal Program. After receiving parental permission, pen pals are matched with each other based on special interests, age, and preferred gender. Many long lasting friendships have begun in the Pen Pal Program, and face-to-face meetings are not uncommon, especially when families incorporate "pen pal visits" into their vacation plans.
Networking
Parents and children who wish to share the joys of learning with other Calvert families can make lasting connections through Calvert's networking service. Calvert will provide you with contact information for families who have agreed to participate in the networking program.
